Murray County Released Inmate Records
A release from Murray County Jail is a physical custody event. It does not always mean the person went home. Bond, a court order, time served, sentence completion, or dismissal may lead to community release. A transfer to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, another county, a tribal or federal authority, or immigration custody means confinement continues under a new custodian. The most useful Murray County release record therefore states who left, which booking was involved, when the event occurred, why custody changed, and where the person went.
The Murray County Sheriff holds the county jail booking and release record. The court supplies the legal order or case outcome. ODOC controls state prison and community-supervision records. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board records Board action, but its docket is not a jail release list. Each source answers a different part of the question. A name vanishing from a roster would answer none of them, and Murray County does not have a verified official public roster or released-person archive.
Why did the name disappear? The person may have been released, transferred, moved into another jurisdiction, or removed after a data change. Ask for the disposition and destination.
Murray County Release Types
The wording attached to the custody event controls the next search. A bond release ends physical detention while the case may remain open. Time served means a court credited prior confinement toward a sentence. Parole is release from prison under continued supervision. Probation is court-ordered supervision that may follow local custody or a suspended or deferred sentence. A transfer is not community release at all.
| Release type | What it means | Where to verify next |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or recognizance | Physical release before final case disposition | Jail release record and the correct court docket |
| Time served or sentence complete | Local custody may end because the imposed term is satisfied | Jail record plus judgment or court minute |
| Dismissal or court order | That case may no longer authorize confinement, though another hold can remain | Court order and jail disposition |
| Parole or probation | The person is in the community with supervision still active | ODOC status, assigned office, and applicable court or Board record |
| Transfer | Custody continues with ODOC or another local, tribal, federal, or immigration authority | The receiving agency named in the jail record |
A dismissal on one case does not clear a second warrant or detainer. A detainer is a request from another authority to hold or transfer the person. An escape or death may also close or change a live custody entry, but neither is a community release. For that reason, read the release reason together with all listed holds and the receiving agency. Record the source's exact status words instead of turning every departure into “released.”
Note: Bond, a court order, and physical release can occur while the underlying Murray County criminal case remains unresolved.
Murray County Release Record Fields
No official Murray County public field layout was located. The items below are fields to request, not claims about an online display. Use the full legal name with a date of birth, booking number, or case number to reduce the risk of a name-only mismatch. A useful result ties the release to one booking and shows the destination.
| Field to request | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Full name, aliases, and disambiguator | Which person the record concerns |
| Booking number and booking date/time | The exact county custody event |
| Arresting or committing agency | Who initiated the booking and may hold a related report |
| Charges, statutes, and case numbers | Which court matters were tied to custody at release |
| Court | Which clerk holds the related legal record |
| Bond type and amount | Whether a bond event supported physical release |
| Release date and time | When Murray County custody changed |
| Disposition and destination | Whether the person entered the community or another agency's custody |
| Booking photograph | The image associated with that booking, if open and available |
The court record and custody record should be read as a pair. A court minute can explain the authority for bond, dismissal, sentencing, transport, or time served. It may be entered before jail staff complete the physical release. The jail record supplies the event time and destination; the filed order explains why the event was authorized.
Note: A release date without a disposition cannot distinguish a return to the community from a transfer into continued custody.
Request Murray County Release Records
A narrow written request under the Oklahoma Open Records Act is the durable route when telephone staff cannot provide the facts. Murray County has no verified online request form, records email, local fee schedule, response-time promise, or published retention period. Call first for the current custodian, submission method, and hours. Ask for an electronic copy when available and a written, itemized estimate before costs are incurred.
- Identify the person with the full name and a birth date, booking number, or case number when known.
- Request the booking number, booking and release times, arresting agency, charges, bond details, disposition, destination, and booking photograph.
- Ask staff to search existing jail-management, paper register, dispatch, and archived booking records if the fields are stored apart.
- State that community release must be distinguished from transfer, with the receiving agency named.
- Ask for the record in electronic form and approve no charge until the custodian gives an estimate and itemization.

The Act establishes access, copying, fee, and public-body duties, but it does not make every file or field open. Ask for segregable public material rather than an entire investigative file. Juvenile information, sealed or expunged material, protected victim data, medical facts, and security-sensitive content may be withheld under applicable law. If the county record is wrong, seek the custodian's correction process and cite the booking or case number with a supporting official document.
Expunged Murray County Release Records
Oklahoma sealing law can explain a missing Murray County release or court result. Eligibility categories appear in 22 O.S. § 18, while 22 O.S. § 19 sets the petition process. The petition is filed in the district where arrest information is located, with notice to the prosecutor, arresting agency, OSBI, and other parties required by law. Eligibility depends on the category, outcome, timing, prior record, and current statute.
Sealing can remove public access to all or part of an arrest or court record while preserving limited identification information as the statute allows. It does not mean the earlier custody event never occurred. Murray County publishes no verified public retention period for released-person entries, so a missing result can also reflect the lack of an online archive. Requesters should not assign a cause from silence alone. The safe statement is that no result was located in the named system with the identifiers used on that date.
Note: Public absence after sealing is an access result, not proof that the earlier Murray County custody event did not happen.
Find Murray County Released Inmates
The strongest search starts with custody type, not with a broad name search. A Murray County arrest without a state sentence begins at the jail. A state-sentenced person belongs in ODOC records. A federal sentence calls for the federal locator, while a documented immigration transfer calls for ICE. Municipal and tribal cases may require a court outside the statewide Oklahoma docket system.
- Confirm the arresting agency and the jail that actually held the person. For a Murray County booking, call the jail and ask for date, time, disposition, booking number, and destination.
- Search the proper court. Use OSCN for Murray County state cases, but contact the city court for an ordinance case and the tribal or federal court when that jurisdiction applies.
- Use ODOC only when the person entered Oklahoma state custody or community supervision. A new ODOC result after leaving the jail may document a transfer, not freedom.
- Check OK VINE for a participating agency's custody event and register for updates. Confirm an alert with the reporting facility.
- Use BOP or ICE only when the known sentence or destination supports that path. Read each locator's result within its limited custody scope.
- When no reliable public result exists, request the archived booking and release record from the Sheriff and the case documents from the proper clerk.
Two stable identifiers should support a match when possible. A full name plus date of birth, booking number, ODOC number, case number, or physical descriptors is stronger than a name or photograph alone. The Murray County Jail release page expands the facility-specific confirmation route.
ODOC Murray County Release Search
The OK Offender Lookup applies to someone who entered Oklahoma state custody or remains under ODOC supervision. Accept the disclaimer, choose Search, and use the ODOC number when known. Open a possible match only after comparing identity facts. Copy the exact status and date labels because ODOC terms and interfaces can change.
| Search or result field | How to use it | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Begin a candidate search | Not enough by itself |
| ODOC number | Find the state-system identity | Does not identify a county booking alone |
| Image and physical description | Compare the person | An image does not prove current status |
| Location or status | Read the exact custody or supervision label | Abbreviated data may need records confirmation |
| Conviction and sentence information | Connect the result to the state case | Not an exact account of time to serve |
| Displayed dates | Record only dates the live source provides | A specific projected date may be confidential and tentative |
The official lookup screen shows the acceptance step before access. View it at the ODOC source before searching.
This screen reinforces that ODOC data is abbreviated and belongs to the state system. A person released from Murray County Jail on bond, dismissal, time served, or a short local sentence may never appear there. ODOC also calls its estimate a Projected Release Date, but its current guidance says an individual's exact date may be confidential to an ordinary inquirer and remains tentative.
Murray County Release Court Routes
The court path depends on the charge and jurisdiction. Search the OSCN docket system for a Murray County state case, then inspect entries near the suspected custody change. Bond, recognizance, dismissal, plea, sentence, time served, commitment, transport, modification, or revocation entries can explain the authority. The docket may not show the hour when jail processing ended, so it should corroborate rather than replace the Sheriff's release record.
Sulphur and Davis ordinance matters may be in their municipal courts instead of OSCN. A Lighthorse arrest may lead to tribal or federal proceedings. Thus, an empty statewide docket search proves neither that there was no case nor that a person was released. Identify four separate facts: the arresting agency, the physical jail, the court system, and the final custody destination.
Which record controls? The holding agency proves the physical custody event. The court proves the legal authority, while ODOC or another receiver proves continued custody.
Murray County Recent Release Records
No verified official Murray County roster, 24-hour release view, 72-hour release view, mobile app, or released-booking archive was found. Official-looking commercial pages do not fill that gap. For recent Murray County released inmates, call the jail and ask whether the custodian can provide existing release-log or jail-management records for an exact local date range. The request should separate community releases from transfers and seek booking number, booking time, release time, disposition, destination, charges, and a photograph when open.
The official Sheriff agency directory provides the verified local contact route.
The directory supports contact with the agency, not a claim that an online feed exists. A later roster, if one appears, would still show a changing view rather than a certified historical release record. For a date-bounded list, ask for existing records between stated start and end times and request an estimate before the search begins.
Note: A 24-hour list would record processing events, but it could not prove continued freedom after a later arrest or transfer.
Murray County Tribal Release Path
Tribal jurisdiction has a specific local role. Chickasaw Lighthorse Police expressly lists Murray County among its jurisdictional counties. The Chickasaw Nation also documented an adult-detention agreement with Murray County. Those facts mean the arresting authority, physical holding jail, and court may belong to different systems. They do not prove that every Lighthorse detainee was held at Murray County Jail.
The Nation's official account of the detention agreement can be viewed at the linked source.
For a named person, obtain the Lighthorse report number and ask which jail booked the arrest. If Murray County held the person, request its physical release or transfer record. Then use the tribal or federal court for the legal disposition as jurisdiction requires. OSCN silence is expected for some non-state cases and does not resolve custody.
Murray County Release Status Checks
After prison release, supervision may remain. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board publishes hearing and decision records, while ODOC runs probation and parole supervision. A Board docket only shows that action was scheduled. Even a favorable result is not the physical release time. Check the validated Board result, then ODOC or VINE for the later custody event. The live ODOC table assigns Murray County to the Ada office, while an older attachment names Sulphur, so call the current listing before travel. More detail appears in Post-Release Supervision.
OK VINE offers custody checks and alerts through participating Oklahoma agencies. A record may show identity, reporting agency, location, custody status, and status date. Register for phone, email, text, in-app, or TTY notices through the live system, or call 1-877-654-8463. Release, transfer, escape, apprehension, and death can trigger notices. Treat an alert as a prompt to verify with the reporting facility, not as a certified release record.
- Parole
- Release from prison into supervision before the sentence is fully discharged.
- Probation
- Court-ordered community supervision that may occur without prison or after local custody.
- Discharge
- The end of the custodial or supervision sentence as the responsible agency records it.
- Detainer
- A request by another authority to hold or transfer the person.
The Oklahoma Sex Offender Registry and Violent Offender Registry are separate post-release sources for people who must register. A current entry may provide status, identifiers, a photograph, the qualifying offense, and jurisdiction data. Absence does not mean there was no release or custody history because the registries cover only people subject to those laws. Use them for personal knowledge and public-safety checks, then verify current facts with the responsible agency.
Note: An active supervision or registry entry can confirm a post-release obligation without proving that the full sentence has been discharged.
Murray County Release Search Boundaries
Released and still-in-custody records do not live in one system. Murray County has no identified ODOC prison, BOP institution, or dedicated ICE detention center. Those sources become relevant only after a sentence or documented transfer points there. A current roster, if one becomes available, would cover present local custody, while the jail's release record preserves a past event. The comparison below keeps each result within its proper scope.
| Situation | Start here | What the result can prove |
|---|---|---|
| Current or former county jail custody | Murray County Jail | Booking, release or transfer event, and destination |
| State prison or ODOC supervision | OK Offender Lookup and ODOC records | State-system identity, status, sentence data, or formal discharge |
| Participating custody notification | OK VINE | A reported status event that must be verified with its supplier |
| Federal sentence | BOP Inmate Locator | BOP custody or release status only |
| Documented immigration transfer | ICE Online Detainee Locator | Possible ICE detention, subject to identifier and data limits |
“Not in BOP custody” does not exclude local, state, tribal, or immigration custody. Likewise, an ICE no-result can reflect spelling, transfer lag, restrictions, or no ICE detention. If a Murray County record says “USMS,” identify the federal case and receiving facility because the U.S. Marshals Service is a transport and holding channel, not a long-term public locator.
Note: Federal and immigration locators are exception routes for documented cases, not substitutes for contacting the Murray County Jail.
Getting Home After Murray County Release
JAMM Transit through INCA Community Services lists scheduled non-emergency transportation across Murray County, including Sulphur and Davis. It is planning information, not a documented jail-gate ride service. No source promises that a vehicle will meet an uncertain release hour or operate on demand after custody ends.
A person arranging a ride should first confirm that the disposition is community release rather than transfer. Then ask Murray County Jail for the actual release timing, pickup location, and any current visitor or vehicle instructions. Make transit plans in advance and confirm the provider's schedule directly. Murray County has no verified public release-hour, release-door, weekend, holiday, property-pickup, or account-refund policy, so those details must come from jail staff rather than assumption.
Murray County Release Facility
Murray County Jail is the only facility page resolved from the county facility map. Sulphur and Davis police are arresting agencies, but no separate current long-term city jail was verified. A city arrest report and a county custody record can therefore be held by different offices. Ask the police department for the receiving jail, then obtain release proof from the facility that actually held the person.
Murray County Jail: 700 W. 10th St., Sulphur, OK 73086; 580-622-5106. A person may return to the community after bond, time served, or a court order, or may transfer to ODOC, another county, tribal, federal, or immigration custody. The receiving-agency name is the bridge to the next locator. No nearby jail should be searched merely because it is close to Murray County.
